We start all projects with a no-cost introductory phone call so we can get to know one another, discuss your goals, and talk through the design process. After that, we’ll recommend one of three ways to engage our services, depending on where you are at in your design journey: a consultation, a design study, or full design services. A consultation and design study are introductory portions of the full design process that can be provided as standalone services and built upon with future work.
the design process
We begin by talking through your goals, assessing your site or building, and analyzing codes, opportunities, & constraints. We start schematic design with pencil sketches to look at big ideas and establish a direction for the project. We develop the design schematically into a drawing set that can be used for initial price estimating by your contractor. Once you’re comfortable with the project scope & rough budget, we move forward with engineering, permit drawings, development of details and interior design. During construction, we are involved to help the builder look ahead and provide additional information or work through any changes that might come up.
